This poem is intriguing because it is mystery.  The reader has to make conclusions/inferences about what happened to the family that once lived in the farmhouse.  All you have are the clues.  It is a haunting poem that leaves you thinking even after you have read it!

Ode Poems

*An Ode is a poem of celebration.

*When the ancient Greeks wrote odes, they followed a strict form in three parts. But as the years passed, the formal structure of the ode disappeared.

*It is a free verse poem;there are no rules about rhyming.

Ode to Rachel Roy's Sequin Covered, Five Inch, Black Studded Heels

Silver sequins glistening in the bright lights on the runway
Five inch, black studded heels
Towering over everyone
Violet leather lining
Rachel Roy- always worth the expense
Fabulous world of fashion
Worthy of praise
NEVER worn in the rain
Cherished belonging
A work of art!
